Tony Kushner: An American Cinematheque Tribute

ABOUT THE SERIES
Tony Kushner came to national prominence in 1993 when his two-part play Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes won both a Tony Award and a Pulitzer Prize. In the 2000s, he began writing for motion pictures with similar success; both MUNICH (2005) and LINCOLN (2012) earned Kushner Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar nominations. His latest film (and third collaboration with director Steven Spielberg) is WEST SIDE STORY, a fresh take on one of the most iconic Broadway musicals of all time. Our salute to the acclaimed writer includes screenings of all three films, with Kushner joining us virtually.
