The American Cinematheque is proud to welcome Academy Award winning filmmaker Sofia Coppola in celebration of her new film PRISCILLA. Known for her signature dreamy aesthetics and themes surrounding girlhood, wealth, and isolation, Sofia has established herself as one of the leading auteur filmmakers to constantly keep an eye out for. We’ll take a look back at her early filmography with an anniversary double feature of LOST IN TRANSLATION and THE BLING RING which Sofia will introduce, then finish with an advance screening of the highly anticipated drama biopic PRISCILLA followed by a filmmaker Q&A.
