The American Cinematheque is thrilled to return to the wonderful world of visionary filmmaker and co-founder of Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki. His unique ability to weave enchanting tales that resonate with audiences of all ages has made him a revered figure in the cinematic realm. Exploring profound themes with captivating characters and breathtaking visuals, this tribute includes THE BOY AND THE HERON, winner of the Golden Globe for ‘Best Animated Feature Film’ and nominated for the Academy Award for ‘Best Animated Feature,’ and a Q&A with legendary supervising animator Takeshi Honda, followed by THE WIND RISES and a 35mm subtitled triple feature of KIKI’S DELIVERY SERVICE, PORCO ROSSO and NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND.
