ABOUT THE SERIES:
This 4-part series accompanies and mirrors Kimberly Truhler’s book Film Noir Style: The Killer 1940s. Like the book, the screening series will be divided into 4 parts:
- Before the War 1940-1941 (THE MALTESE FALCON)
- The War Years 1942-1945 (LAURA)
- The Year of Transition 1946 (THE KILLERS)
- The Post-War Years 1947-1950 (OUT OF THE PAST)
After more than 25 years of studying film history, Kimberly Truhler founded GlamAmor.com and is an author, guest speaker, and host of screening series on the history of fashion in film. She has been a respected expert for organizations such as TCM, National Film Registry, Christie’s auction house, Elle magazine, and the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM). Truhler was also seen in CNN’s docu-series “American Style” and documentaries for TCM’s series “Follow the Thread.”
