ABOUT THE FILM: Inspired by the history of The Supremes, sisters Sparkle, played by Irene Cara, Sister (Lonette McKee), and Delores (Dwan Smith), form a girl group in 1950’s Harlem that catapults them to success. Dealing with individual issues, that success and their relationship is threatened. Harking back to a special period in American History, the film explores Harlem’s musical and social influence.
