Sent to a travelling circus in Bombay (now Mumbai), 11-year-old Krishna tries to earn money to repay a debt to his family. While there, he winds up in Bombay’s back alleys and gutters, befriending drug dealers and sex workers, all trying to survive in India’s largest city.
