The Office of Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez, on behalf of the City of Los Angeles and City Council District 13, will be presenting a recognition in celebration of Ed Wood Jr’s 100th Birthday followed by introductions by comedian Bobcat Goldthwait and author Harry Medved. Program begins with preview of the upcoming PBS SoCal show, LOCATIONLAND, featuring an episode devoted to PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE filming locations.
ABOUT THE FILM:
Intent on conquering planet earth, space soldier Eros and his companion, Tanna, resurrect a couple to enact their terrible “Plan 9.” With psychic Criswell narrating, the sweetly well-intentioned film includes Tor Johnson’s desperate attempts to rise from his coffin, whimsical time shifts, clearly visible flying saucer strings, and a silent performance from Vampira (Maila Nurmi).
