ABOUT THE FILM
One of the few Technicolor examples of film noir, box office hit NIAGARA helped make a star of Marilyn Monroe, cast against type as a femme fatale. Honeymooners Jean Peters and Max Showalter travel to Niagara Falls and strike up an acquaintance with the couple in the cabin next door – Monroe and Joseph Cotton – little realizing the troubled relationship of their neighbors. Infidelity, mistaken identity and murder follow in short order amid the breathtaking scenery captured by cinematographer Joseph MacDonald.
