ABOUT THE FILM Family occasions can be hell but this one will test even those with the strongest nerves. Simi is sent to visit her nutritionist aunt, Claudia, with the hope of losing weight and perhaps improving her self-image. But what greets her is a family occasion full of weird awkwardness whether it’s the rudeness of Flip, Claduia’ s son or the unnecessary affection of Stefan, Claudia’s husband. As Easter Sunday looms, Claudia’s methods get more and more cruel and a real reckoning beckons. Peter Hengl’s film is a bold and beautiful horror of unease that builds the tension by playing upon small moments of awkwardness – his keen eye for familiar details twisted give the film an uncomfortable edge as it builds to a truly bizarre and bold climax.
