ABOUT THE FILM:
When vaudeville star Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones) is arrested for the murder of her two-timing husband, she enlists a smooth-talking attorney (Richard Gere) to grease the wheels of her public image and avoid a death sentence. Meanwhile, up and comer Roxie Hart (Renée Zellweger) has arrived on Murderess’ Row and will use every trick in the book to keep the spotlight on her own predicament. This jazz-age tale of jealousy, deceit, and fame earned six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and remains a musical favorite decades after its release.
