ABOUT THE FILM:
Tamra Davis, a Los Feliz native, is one of the few directors to have made the jump from music videos to feature films – Just look up her work for N.W.A., Depeche Mode, Cher, Black Flag, The Smiths, Sonic Youth, Beastie Boys and so much more. CB4, her second feature film, is a mockumentary starring Chris Rock, Allen Payne, and Deezer D as the rap group Cell Block 4 (a SNL-like take on N.W.A.) who full heartedly live the L.A. credo of “faking it till you make it.” The first act features interview-style cameos from Eazy-E, Shaq, Butthole Surfers, etc., and every scene with Phil Hartman is incredible (RIP to an Encino legend!).
