In Joseph Sims-Dennett’s unexpected tale of terror, BAAL, Grace, a young woman, reluctantly returns to her crumbling hometown, only to discover her brother has mysteriously gone missing. Consumed by guilt, she embarks on a harrowing journey to find him, which leads her deep into the dark wilderness surrounding the town.
Eerie and unsettling from the outset, BAAL is as much an exploration of decaying towns on the fringes of civilization as it is of the dark forces that haunt them. Atmospheric and terrifying, this film ties primal fear to the familiar, uncovering a new strain of horror that lingers long after it’s over.
