A young couple records and collects folk songs in rural Ireland, selling them to a mysterious, rich buyer. When rumors of a song never-before-heard reach the couple, they find themselves in an uneasy alliance with a music professor to discover an ancient song, a song that may end up unlocking some dark truth from the past that will alter all their lives. Dropping like a bomb into the canon of folk horror, Paul Duane’s masterful debut feature is nightmare fuel like no other. Set within the constant darkness of the countryside, this eerie, cautionary tale ratchets up the scares, building up a third act so wild, so wonderful, so unforgettable that to see it is to immediately fall in love with.
