Adapted from a short story by Haruki Murakami, Jun Ichikawa’s TONY TAKITANI follows a technical illustrator (Issey Ogata), who has lived a life of loneliness and isolation with very few, if any real friends. When he meets a young client (Rie Miyazawa), he becomes enchanted with her and they marry, leaving him to believe his isolation days are over. But his new wife’s obsession with expensive designer clothes leads to a terrible tragedy.
