About the Mission Tiki Drive-In

This event takes place at the Mission Tiki Drive-In Theatre at 10798 Ramona Ave in Montclair, CA 91763. PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY – we recommend arriving up to an hour and a half before showtime, as the line for entering the lot can take a long time. We will have a music playlist to entertain you as you enter. The drive-in opens at 7:30 PM. There are several screens at the theatre (any lane gets you into any screen); Cinematheque signage will direct you to our event.

The audio for the movies is broadcast through an FM transmitter radio. If you do not have this or the quality in your car is not good, you can bring a battery-operated stereo with speakers to hear the movies.

Large SUVs should sit in the back half of the theater as to not obstruct the view of other moviegoers. All cars should turn off headlights so as to not interrupt the viewing experience.

Social distancing is required at this event. Do not not park your vehicle within six feet of another vehicle. You must only view the movie from inside your vehicle. If you leave your vehicle to visit the bathroom or snack bar, you must wear a mask. See the Mission Tiki’s “About” page for additional information.

Tickets bought on Brown Paper Tickets guarantee admittance to both features. There will be a 15-20 minute break between features. If you plan to arrive only for the second feature, we recommend arriving at 9:45 PM or earlier.

About A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET

John Saxon Remembered
A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET
1984, Warner Bros., 92 min, USA, Dir: Wes Craven

Wes Craven created one of his most famous movie milestones with this supremely entertaining horror opus, melding influences from Polanski to Buñuel to Argento to achieve a bizarrely subversive box office hit. NIGHTMARE… went on to become a certifiable goldmine of a franchise and ushered in surrealism to the masses. Dead child-killer/dream demon Freddie Krueger (Robert Englund) proves a formidable homicidal anti-hero but finds a more than worthy opponent in feisty, brainy teen Heather Langenkamp. With Johnny Depp, John Saxon and Ronee Blakely.

About SCREAM

Wes Craven Birthday Celebration!
SCREAM
1996, Paramount, 111 min, USA, Dir: Wes Craven

Director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson re-invented and revitalized the slasher genre with this modern horror classic, which manages to be funny, clever and scary, as a fright-masked knife maniac stalks high-school students in middle-class suburbia. A Saturn and MTV Movie Award winner that spawned 3 big-screen sequels and a TV series, the box office hit provides both tension and self-parody as the body count mounts – but the victims aren’t always the ones you’d expect. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Drew Barrymore are among the stars contending with the lethal Ghostface.
