About The Hollywood Legion Theater at Post 43

This event takes place at the Hollywood Legion Theater at Post 43 at 2035 N. Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90068.

The Hollywood Legion Theater’s drive-in is the first-ever drive-in cinema in the heart of Hollywood. With a capacity of 30 vehicles, it features DCI-compliant 4K digital projection with advanced stereo FM sound transmission. The 38’ custom-built screen system is mounted to a rigid truss frame on a ballasted scaffold system, providing an ultra-stable image. Cars will be arrayed in an amphitheater-like setting, unusual for drive-ins, and afford patrons with the beautiful nighttime backdrop of the Hollywood hills.

Social distancing is required at this event. Do not not park your vehicle within six feet of another vehicle. You must only view the movie from inside your vehicle. If you leave your vehicle to visit the bathroom or snack bar, you must wear a mask. In compliance with health regulations, there will be no intermission between films.

About Ticketing

Tickets are sold by car, not by individual, and start at $65 depending on vehicle size. Parking will be reserved based on vehicle size. Each ticket includes unlimited popcorn, one soda and one candy for each passenger. An arrival time is associated with your parking zone and printed on your ticket. Please show up within 15 minutes of your assigned time. Vehicles will not be permitted to enter the lot within 5 minutes of showtime. Note that capacity at the Hollywood Legion Theater at Post 43 is very limited.

About DUCK SOUP

DUCK SOUP
1933, Universal, 68 min, USA, Dir: Leo McCarey

Margaret Dumont appoints Groucho (Rufus T. Firefly) as prime minister of Freedonia, and he promptly declares war on a neighboring country for no particular reason. With the legendary mirror sequence and Harpo and Chico’s mercurial harassing of the lemonade vendor.

About HORSE FEATHERS

HORSE FEATHERS
1932, Universal, 68 min, USA, Dir: Norman Z. McLeod

The Marx Bros.’ zaniest film finds Groucho as the new president of Huxley College, where his son (Zeppo!) is romancing Thelma Todd and Harpo and Chico have to kidnap the star football players from rival Darwin. Cowritten by S.J. Perelman, whose literate wordplay makes this a special treat, and containing the classic speakeasy and singing-lesson routines. With David Landau, Nat Pendleton and Robert Grieg (for once not cast as a butler).
