About the Golden Globe Foreign Language Series

Discover the best of contemporary world cinema during our week of special screenings of the Golden Globe Best Foreign Language Film nominees at the American Cinematheque! This year we are pleased to bring the series online with virtual Member screenings of the nominated films and a Zoom panel discussion with the filmmakers.

Filippo Meneghetti’s TWO OF US follows two retired women (Barbara Sukowa and Martine Chevallier) who have shared a secret love for decades. In Jayro Bustamante’s politically charged horror tale LA LLORONA, a retired general is haunted – literally – by his genocidal crimes. Holocaust survivor Sophia Loren forms an unlikely friendship with a bitter street kid in Edoardo Ponti’s THE LIFE AHEAD. Mads Mikkelsen stars in Thomas Vinterberg’s ANOTHER ROUND as part of a group of teachers who take a drinking experiment too far. In Lee Isaac Chung’s 1980s-set drama MINARI, a Korean family tries to make a new start on an Arkansas farm.
