About the Mission Tiki Drive-In

This event takes place at the Mission Tiki Drive-In Theatre at 10798 Ramona Ave in Montclair, CA 91763. PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY – we recommend arriving up to an hour and a half before showtime, as the line for entering the lot can take a long time. We will have a music playlist to entertain you as you enter. The drive-in opens at 6:30 PM. There are several screens at the theatre (any lane gets you into any screen); Cinematheque signage will direct you to our event.

The audio for the movies is broadcast through an FM transmitter radio. If you do not have this or the quality in your car is not good, you can bring a battery-operated stereo with speakers to hear the movies.

Large SUVs should sit in the back half of the theater as to not obstruct the view of other moviegoers. All cars should turn off headlights so as to not interrupt the viewing experience.

Social distancing is required at this event. Do not not park your vehicle within six feet of another vehicle. You must only view the movie from inside your vehicle. If you leave your vehicle to visit the bathroom or snack bar, you must wear a mask. See the Mission Tiki’s “About” page for additional information.

Passengers within the vehicle SHOULD NOT each purchase individual tickets. Drivers concealing another person(s) will be turned away without refund. All cars are subject to search. For any questions or concerns, please contact [email protected]

Tickets bought on Eventbrite guarantee admittance to both features. There will be a 15-20 minute break between features. If you intend to see the second show only, plan to arrive thirty minutes before the start of the second show.

About ARCHENEMY

World Premiere!
ARCHENEMY
2020, 90 min, USA, Dir: Adam Egypt Mortimer

Adam Egypt Mortimer (DANIEL ISN’T REAL) is back to astonish us with a twisted, utterly unique take on comic book superheroes. Max Fist (Joe Manganiello) is an intergalactic defender of worlds and vanquisher of evil … until a hapless accident propels him through space and time to Earth, rendering him stranded and his powers useless. Hamster is a kid from the wrong side of the tracks trying to realize his dream of becoming a popular social media storyteller with the support of his protective sister Indigo, who works for a local gang. It’s not too long before their paths cross with Max’s, and when they do, there’s no telling what might happen. Riffing on familiar comic book-adaptation tropes, Mortimer’s film is a breath of fresh air that skewers our expectations; nihilistic humor collides with relatable characters in a universe reflective of the times we live in to create the sort of superhero we didn’t know we needed. – Evrim Ersoy

About PG: PSYCHO GOREMAN

North American Premiere!
PG: PSYCHO GOREMAN
2020, 92 min, Canada, Dir: Steven Kostanski

Indomitable Mimi (Nita-Josée Hanna) and her mild-mannered older brother Luke (Owen Myre) unwittingly revive a malevolent alien who happens to be buried in their backyard. The siblings name him Psycho Goreman (PG for short) and tame him with his own magical amulet, now in the possession of young Mimi, who forces PG to bend to her every childish whim despite his desire to destroy everything in existence. Elsewhere in the galaxy, PG’s cronies and captors catch wind of his reemergence and chart a course for Earth – and the bloodiest interstellar showdown this side of Gigax. Canadian cult filmmaker Steven Kostanski (THE VOID) kicks things into overdrive with painstakingly detailed world-building inhabited by even more painstakingly crafted creatures animated by all the classic tricks of the trade: puppetry, miniatures, stop motion, O.G. computer effects, and presumably gallons of liquid latex and blood. – Nicole McControversy
