Admission Information & Theatre Policies


We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

Program subject to change without notice.

No Texting, Talking or Cellular Devices
No talking, texting or use of cellular devices during the event. If you are disruptive or use electronics, you will be removed immediately from the theatre. Cell phones and other mobile/recording devices must be turned off during shows.

Late seating is solely at the discretion of management.

Personal recording devices
No photography, video or audio recording is permitted without prior consent from the American Cinematheque. Filming or photographing the screen during a film is strictly prohibited and punishable by law.

No smoking or vaping.

No animals permitted unless they are a service animal.

Children must always be accompanied by an adult.

No Autographs
If we do not advertise a book signing or autograph session, there are no autographs allowed.

The following items are prohibited:

  • Outside food or drink
  • Any items deemed inappropriate or dangerous by American Cinematheque staff or security, at their discretion.
  • Laser pointing devices


Cash and major credit cards only.

Box Office Hours: Opens 90 minutes before the first program of the day; remains open until 30 minutes after the last show of the day begins. Subject to change. The box office is only open on days when there is an American Cinematheque program and only sells tickets at the theatre where the event is taking place. 

Advance online tickets are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online for both Cinematheque members and general admission on Processing fees will apply. Please visit the American Cinematheque’s calendar to find tickets to any event listing. 

For Pre-Purchased Tickets: Please have your order confirmation email open on your mobile device. Our staff will check your mobile ticket at the door. You can also print your confirmation at home and bring it with you. 

You may also bring the credit card you used to purchase your ticket. FOR BOX OFFICE REDEMPTION ONLY. 

If you use PayPal on you MUST bring your FANDANGO confirmation. Your PayPal information is private and we have no access to it.

If you purchase multiple tickets on Fandango and your party is arriving separately, we suggest that the person holding the Fandango receipt obtains printed tickets from the box office and leaves these tickets in the other guest’s names. Mobile tickets or print at home tickets can be scanned only once.

Regular Programs:

  • $12 General
  • $10 Seniors 65+ & Students (with valid I.D. only)
    • Student and Senior tickets are sold at the box office ONLY and not online
    • Students must purchase tickets in person and bring a current student I.D. and state-issued I.D. card or driver’s license with a photo to buy a student ticket
    • Seniors must purchase tickets in person and bring a valid state-issued I.D. card or driver’s license with a photo to buy a senior ticket
  • $8 American Cinematheque Members


Special Programs:

  • Vouchers are only accepted for regular-priced shows
  • Vouchers cannot be used for shows that have already sold out online. You can only exchange your ticket voucher at the Box Office on the day of show. Check event page for details.


Doors Open one hour before showtime. Subject to change. Members of the American Cinematheque have priority entrance.

Seating is General Admission only. There is no assigned seating.

The American Cinematheque runs a standby line for all sold-out shows, unless otherwise indicated.



RSVP for all free events or member screenings does not guarantee seating. First-come, first-served basis.

No refunds or exchanges from the American Cinematheque’s box office for tickets purchased on
Fandango will not refund tickets after the showtime has passed. Please contact Fandango for more information.
The American Cinematheque will provide refunds in the rare instance a screening is canceled.

If there is an issue with the technical presentation (such as a sound defect or a faded print) you may request a voucher from the manager if you exit the theatre within 20 minutes of the start time
