Since his 1987 short “Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story,” music has played a key role in Todd Haynes’ filmography. His latest is THE VELVET UNDERGROUND, profiling the legendary alternative band through in-depth interviews and never-before-seen performances. In addition to the new documentary, Haynes has imbued narrative films with the spirit of glam rock (VELVET GOLDMINE) and Bob Dylan (I’M NOT THERE). Our salute to the writer-director includes screenings of all three of these rock-fueled features, with Haynes joining us virtually.
