The American Cinematheque is proud to welcome actor Angela Bassett in person at the Aero Theatre for her new film, BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER. Angela Bassett is an actor, director, and executive producer known for captivating, emotionally-tinged performances full of dignity in treasured films such as MALCOLM X, HOW STELLA GOT HER GROOVE BACK, WAITING TO EXHALE, and of course, WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT, for which she was awarded a Golden Globe and received an Academy Award nomination. She has since made star-turns in such films as MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: FALLOUT and the historic BLACK PANTHER, and BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER. Angela is the recipient of a SAG Award, 11 NAACP Image Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and a Black Girls Rock! Icon Award. Angela has also earned multiple Emmy nominations and holds a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In the latest BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER she reprises her role as Ramonda, the Queen of Wakanda, where she must navigate threats and lead her people — but never forget her role as a mother.
