Linda Manz: An American Cinematheque Retrospective

ABOUT THE SERIES
Despite a limited filmography, Linda Manz has garnered iconic status. The Manhattan-born performer’s feature debut in Terrence Malick’s DAYS OF HEAVEN was universally praised by critics, and her follow-up role in Philip Kaufman’s THE WANDERERS added to a growing reputation. When Dennis Hopper took over directing OUT OF THE BLUE he tailored the script to Linda’s unique strengths and personality, and her work as Cebe Barnes riveted critics and movie-goers. In the mid-1980s, she took a hiatus from acting to raise a family until her return over ten years later in Harmony Korine’s GUMMO and David Fincher’s THE GAME.
Our tribute to Linda Manz includes an exclusive L.A. run of the new 4K restoration of OUT OF THE BLUE – see those showtimes here.
