Photographer Alex is on a road trip to nowhere across the American Southwest, searching for inspiration in the vast, endless landscape and the abandoned places he encounters along the way. A chance meeting with a young couple pulls him into a nightmare beyond anything he could have imagined, and soon everyone is on a one-way journey into the heart of America—and darkness.
Joshua Erkman’s feature debut is a love letter to American neo-noir cinema, as well as a successful attempt to steer the subgenre into pure, visceral horror. Full of twists and stunning visuals, A DESERT is a film that gets under your skin—and stays there permanently.
