VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We rely on a pool of over 200 volunteers to pull off our film events annually at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood and the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, plus our annual celebrity benefit. We are a non-profit, viewer-supported film and video exhibition organization that celebrates the moving image in all its forms. Our diverse programming includes everything from tributes to great filmmakers and actors past and present, to the newest films in world cinema, shorts from up and coming filmmakers, restorations of rare or lost films -- and much more!

Located in the filmmaking capital of the world, our purpose is to provide Southern California audiences with the broadest possible film-going opportunities. Our year - round screenings at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood and the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica offer both the public and filmmakers a permanent venue to enjoy and study film on the big screen.

Below is a list of a few of the many ways we currently rely on volunteer support. If you have a special skill, talent contact or connection you’d like to contribute, we’d like to hear about it, so call the Cinematheque and let us know today!

Community Outreach: Speak with students and educators about the Cinematheque’s programs. Reach out to community groups to attend programs.

Day & Evening Office Help: (in all departments) data entry, mailings, phone calls, word processing, maintaining archives, outreach for our programs, etc.

Display & Presentation Artists: Create signage & displays for our theaters.

Marketing and Promotions: Flyer distribution, soliciting donations for events, social media team, special projects.

Membership: Help us target new member groups & solicit member benefits. Distribute information about our organization at street fairs and other events.

Programming: Research for film programs, written & verbal foreign language translations.

Photographers & Videographers: Photograph or videotape our events.

Special Event Staff: Lend a hand in guest and media relations at premieres and benefits. Help with event production and set up.

Theater Staff: Help usher, take tickets and provide information to the public at our weekly screenings at the Egyptian & Aero Theatres.

Tour Guides: Learn the history of the Egyptian Theatre and train to give guided tours!
